Watch this video to see Bob having a new shoes. Horse's feet grow like our fingernails and need trimming on a regular basis.
It doesn't hurt the horse as you can see. If it did hurt, Bob wouldn't stand so patiently. We put shoes on their feet to protect them for excessive wear especially if we are taking the horses on hard surfaces such as the roads.
