All glammed up for the Autumn Charity Ball

(October 28, 2014)

Charity BallWith over 230 tickets sold it always promised to be a great night.  The atmosphere was buzzing from the start with the drinks and canapes reception kindly sponsored by Pentangle Engineering, CP Foods and Ichiban UK.  Peter Jones and crew from The Photographers Eye were busy taking photographs of everyone in their finery and most of the guests were trying to recognise each other out of the regulation uniform of jods and baseball caps!  During  the 3 course meal partygoers were entertained by the wonderful Beth Charity Ball BethFrisby, just back from her performance at Glastonbury Festival and the success of her first EP release.  The meal was followed with a live auction of two amazing prizes with the help of auctioneers Andy Honeywood and Matt Brown.  The main prize of the evening was a once in a lifetime opportunity. A one hour flight for a maximum of 4 people in the E3D Full Motion Simulator at RAF Waddington with an Auction winnerRAF Flying Instructor which is a close to flying the AWACS as you'll get!  Keith Anderson won the prize with a generous bid of over £1,000.  The Radical Sports Car Track Day was won by David Hibbett for a corporate day out.  The silent auction was a huge success and all in all the event raised £5,900, a staggering total. We danced the night away to sounds provided by "Ministry of Brown" and tottered home with aching feet in the smal hours of the morning.   Huge thanks to Claire Honeywood who was team leader for this event, ably helped by other trustees from the fundraising team.  Next date 2016?
