Queens Park School visit Kesteven

(July 12, 2012)

wheelchairAs an end of year treat, Queens Park School from Lincoln bought a group of 15 children to meet the ponies and experience horse riding.  Fortunately the sun shone all morning and the children enjoyed leaving their wheelchairs behind and having a lovely ride on our quiet ponies.  One of the teachers commented on how well the children responded to the ponies and thought that all our volunteers were worth their weight in gold! “What you’ve done today has had teachers and carers watching with tears in their eyes – we think your volunteers are amazing,” were her words.queens park

All the volunteers thoroughly enjoyed helping with the extra session, “It was great to see the smiles and although it may have taken a while for some of the children to pluck up the courage to mount, once onboard they were just loving it!”

Trustee and instructor, Nicky Webber said, “This is what RDA is all about, it gave me a warm feeling inside, such a fab day.”
